I do dry washing indoors, so that makes sense. There is only one vent i know of under the stairs which isnt blocked. The only other i can think of is in the bathroom but is blocked! The loose paper in the bay was all underneath it yes, so looks like you could be right. thank you :)

Thanks for that i will try the tip you have given to see if it is condensation. I have attached photos. All drains and gutters are clear, as recently cleared a few months back cheers

As above but with paper pulled back you can see teh green stuff is on the wall and the paper. Couls it be to do with the paste used, or some kind of old paint. i notice some downstirs walls i have stripped are covered in a shiny green paint?
