40mm Solvent Weld - Multifit adapters for connecting onto female fittings?

Cheers. Flopast coupling is basically a rubber sleeve with two jubilee clips to secure, so the rubber should 'splurge' over the embossing that exists on the outside of the solvent weld fittings. Once its fitted, ill take a picture. If it leaks, its right underneath the shower, so no problems...

40mm Solvent Weld - Multifit adapters for connecting onto female fittings?

I need to replace a shower waste which has been solvent welded to the main pipework run. The main pipework is all boxed in: I have a short section of unboxed pipework that is all solvent welded. The only section of this unboxed pipework that is a remotely standard size is the exterior of a...

Intergas, Opentherm & Weather Compensation / Outdoor Temperature Sensor

Thank for this - have just done some fag-packet calcs and range rated the 'maximum CH power' to 38%, which equates to approx. 12.5kw. All my rads total about 11kw. Any tips on what or how to set minimum OT temperature to? 30yr old house, well insulated, all rads. Factory default for HRE...

Intergas, Opentherm & Weather Compensation / Outdoor Temperature Sensor

Thanks - Ill leave the OT and WC connected and boiler will use OT. Yes an isense - I bought it because of the OT compatibility. Build quality was terrible however, very 'plasticky' and the dial had a mind of its own!

Intergas, Opentherm & Weather Compensation / Outdoor Temperature Sensor

I don't have them, only really wanted the ability to turn the heating on/off remotely; this is the only area where I could see any quantifiable gas savings. Why would using the tado rad thermostats be the wrong thing to do?

Intergas, Opentherm & Weather Compensation / Outdoor Temperature Sensor

I have an Intergas HRE36/30 set up a a combi. Its coming up to 10yrs old. I have the Intergas outdoor temp sensor/weather compensation (WC) and have just upgraded my controls to Tado, connected to the boiler via Opentherm (OT). Original controls were actually OT too (Rhemea). It has come to...

Gas cooker/oven - can the oven temerature be calibrated?

Have an 18month old indesit gas cooker (ID60G2) The two ovens seem to give very different temperatures; at gas mark 4 (so 175degC ish) one is reading 160degC and the other approaching 195degC! Can the cut-off point of the thermostat typically be adjusted, so that gas 4 is gas 4 (i.e.175-ish)...

Intergas HRE 36/30 - Luke warm water (DHW)

Amazing fixed! A mixer in the bathroom (not the one I hinted that could be faulty) was turned to full-cold and as picasso rightly suggested, was somehow diluting the hot. Turned to normal temp and voila, hot water as normal. Thanks very much @picasso

Intergas HRE 36/30 - Luke warm water (DHW)

It looks like you are right. With an IR thermometer I have measured the DHW on exit from boiler - 60deg. At the kitchen tap, about 2 metres away its 40deg. We have a mixer shower upstairs and the mixer knob has been gradually loosing all its resistance, suggesting something is not right...

Intergas HRE 36/30 - Luke warm water (DHW)

Many thanks, but sorry, what do you mean? The problem seems to exist at all taps in the house. Can you expand?

Intergas HRE 36/30 - Luke warm water (DHW)

Hi, hope someone out there can help. Our 8 year old Intergas HRE, serviced annually has started to deliver luke warm (30-degree-ish max) water on DHW. I am located in a hard water area, south Bristol. From what I can tell.. Flow switch works (you can hear the 'click' when opening a tap...

    Cable Routing/Depth in Kitchen

Ahh..Now I see..lost in transaltion... I was planing on notching the studwork so that he can fit/fix the cable! I have a tight timescale on this so every little thing I can do myslef will help me stick to my deadline! Thanks! :D

    Cable Routing/Depth in Kitchen

Bizzare? Hypothetical scenario - a new, longer run of cable is needed. It must pass horizontally through a timber upright. To comply with part P, a sparky could not run a new length of cable through an existing hole in the timber upright, but they could (to comply) drill another hole in the...

    Cable Routing/Depth in Kitchen

Thanks for your advice all Im thinking that extending the RCD on the CU to cover all of the kitchen(/house) electrics is the way to go (as opposed to earthed conduit) - Im checking with MK to see that my CU can accomodate this. Its me that is planning on notching the studwork as opposed...

    Cable Routing/Depth in Kitchen

Hi, The kitchen in my timber-framed house will be gutted..out comes plasterboard & insulation, and in goes new. Essentially all walls are constructed as per a partition (75mm deep studwork). Consumer unit is modern MCB type, with RCD protecting lighting (but not sockets – just on the...
