    Well its been quite a few days now and..... still no smell :D . I see from reading online that all outside taps with a hosepipe fitted to it are required to have a non return valve fitted to them to stop 'contaminated' water being siphoned back into the mains. Seeing as we have no problems now...

    I'm sure that it does not have a non return valve on it as it has the same as the dishwasher and washing machine which either allows it to be turned on or isolated (turned off) using a screwdriver. we have a power shower located on the second floor but thats all!!! We have disconnected hose...

We think we have linked the problems to a smell in the water from the cold tap which in turn is exaggerated by the dishwasher drying cycle (as this is cold fill). Dishwasher was stripped down and cleaned, waste pipes (that i could dismantle) removed cleaned...

    Right...........Had dishwasher apart again, had another look at all the water inlet pipes on left hand side. Water from external source goes into what can only be described as a plastic box on upper left hand external wall, this in turn goes via a rubber hose into the dishwasher salt container...

    AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!! Tried what was suggested took the thing to bits, pulled off said hose, clean as a whistle!!! While it was apart physically checked everything that was within arms reach......nothing!! So now sitting here yet again scratching my head :cry: ! Just about tried everything now...

    CM1 thanks for the idea, can you clarify exactly where the panel you refer to is, just so i can be sure when i start to look at it. JohnD, all filters clean, spinning arms have been steam cleaned. Will ask the Mrs about the seal at bottom of door but think she has checked all that???
