CD stuck in drive -please help!

Also forgot to add: as eric says, try the repair/ removal of VHS/beta or micro cassettes, we now have it so much easier. Pinch rollers and magnetic heads are ba$tards! Bring on the digital era, more RAM, no more moving parts please! :-)

CD stuck in drive -please help!

Agree with Eric, Complete strip down seems the only option! If you haven't done it before then take photos as you go and keep notes of all screws removed, and from where, or else as probably lots of us on here, you'll learn from your mistakes the hard way! Good luck. Owen

    What Cable

I dont know what you normally do, but in no way is RG59 or even RG58 suitable for sat IF signals, freeview or even pumping rf round ur house really. 59 is 75 ohm (58 being 50 ohm ) cable ideally suited to composite vid transmission and thats about it! Go for ft100 or ct100 (pretty much the...

    speaker cable

Johnd, couldn't agree more. All this; we can supply your speaker cable, it's ofc, silver plated, mil10385 spec and Nasa approved and only £2 per metre is, IMHO, is a great big load of wa@k. In all the commercial installs I've done in the last ten years albeit 100 volt line or low impedance...

where to get milk crates from ?

Then wait for the Travis lorry to turn up and you'll get your plywood top! Et voilà. Problem solved. If you really wanted to be sure, then hang around for a youngmans lorry and you could have a free podium or mobile access tower!

    CAT5 cable (DUCT GRADE)

Hi Bobby. We use exterior cat5 all the time at work. It doesn't come cheap And we normally get ours from RS. I know there'll be responses from people about RS's prices but hey that's what we do. Obviously I don't have the price or link with me at the mo. Having a well earned glass of...

Too much noise from wall mounted tv

Hi Angus I don't think there is much you could do to reduce the noise levels. You could suggest a rubber "gasket" or sheet mounted behind the actual wall plate, but I don't really think it would make much difference. At a guess most of the transferred sound is going to be coming directly...

Venetian Blind - Want to make the bottom half fixed closed.

Coljack I am only planning on cutting the front string, so think the slat below the cut might just drop slightly as it will still be retained by the middle string. ( I hope any way!!) Big-all Have tried the film before I had upvc put in. It was "OK" but not the nicest looking...

Venetian Blind - Want to make the bottom half fixed closed.

Hi All Here's what I need to do. I have a wooden venetian blind in my bathroom and ideally want the bottom half to stay closed all the time for privacy but to be able to open the top half for most of the day. I've googled a lot and seen lot of ideas for independantly tilting blinds patents...

    speaker cable

To the OP. I would definately agree that .75mm cable will be more than adequate for your main 5/7 speakers. After all, they won't be handling much current. One thing I would add though, is it may be worth running a 2 core speaker cable as well as the screened line cable to your sub...

Installing DG units in aperture that USED to have sash cords

Many thanks for the reply. Seeing as you've done a few of these I just wondered if you had ever done one without disturbing the internal woodwork? I don't plan on blocking it, so hopefully I would like to make as little mess as possible to the architrave. Any tips apart from the obvious of...

Hi All. Although I am a new member I have browsed this site many times for help needed. It's only now that I've needed some advice that I have finally registered!! I plan to install some DG units in my sons nursery and our bedroom primarily to reduce outside noise but also for all...
