ok thanksfor your help. so to replace the pipework it would mean a drain down. followed by a refill with Senitnel X400. Allow this to circulate for a few weeks, then drain down again and re-fill and add inhibitor?

yes the magent pulled quite strongle on the short piece of pipr, and it also was less attracted to but still a slight pull to the other pipes near the pump and motorised valve.
