    Flooring under hearth

Otherwise it would mean building the whole area up with a sand/cement base I guess.

    Flooring under hearth

Hi, I have to lift and refit this engineered oak in the photo due to a change in UFH system. When refitting, my proposal is to run the engineered flooring right up to the front of the chimney breast. This way, the hearth (likely to be 20mm porcelain tiles or maybe slate) can sit on top of the...

    Why the smell?

Cool thanks for that advice. I guess I could reconfigure it so the run to the wall is inline with the basin outlet so it takes up less space that way? As you say, creating a new hole in the wall will be a lot of work and not necessary. As long as it’s got a fall which is currently has it should...

    Why the smell?

Thanks. I’ll need to work out how the toilet can be removed as the next step I guess? This’ll help me to see if something has come off/drifted? If it was leaking, there’d be evidence of it somewhere though don’t you think?

    Why the smell?

Yeah, this could be it. I guess the first thing would be establish if the pan is leaking somehow? To do this it'll mean removing the toilet and inspecting I guess? Thanks.

    Why the smell?

I guess the next step is to probably work out how to take that fancy toilet off and see how well the pan is connected up to the soil stack? I would also like to sort the sink so it has a proper trap on it as currently it looks too crammed in and it takes up a lot of space. Do you think the...

Sadly ours is all day and all night. Worse when there’s more breeze but it’s driving me crazy hence why I’m starting to dismantle to see if I work it out. Great thoughts and suggestions, much appreciated.

    Why the smell?

Under the basin doesn’t look too good does it? The outlet should be lower than it currently is wouldn’t you say? Maybe it’s worth redoing it but that’ll involve cutting a new hole or moving the brick wont it? The porcelain tiles inside won’t be easy to cut either will they?

    Why the smell?

hmmmm. So when we first moved in it didn’t do. It only the last year or so it’s been driving us crazy. Very strange. If it was an issue with the stack would it not be coming out of the waste pipe rather than the hole in the wall?

    Why the smell?

The sink trap? If so, it’s always got water in it so I’m guessing no is the answer. I’m 99% sure the small comes through the gap around the basin outlet gaps in the wall if that helps.

    Why the smell?

Does these outside pics help? (left is shower outlet, middle is sink and right is bath)

    Why the smell?

We’re getting a really bad urine smell coming from under our ensuite sink and I wondered if anyone could help me work out why and where the issue is so I can look at sorting it. I’ve taken off the vanity unity underneath to eliminate any issue there. The reason for taking it off was every time...

    Fitting sleepers

Yes, new sleepers in to replace the old ones. Here are three photo’s of the side in question. Starting at the front and photos going back away from the house... And a photo showing the area... This final photo is the other side to give some context... I hope this helps and shows...
