    Installing speaker cable in walls

Hi Chris, Thanks for a detailed answer on this. We have decided to go with lighting flex but on the following basis: We've used flex, not cable, so easy to distinguish between lighting ring and speaker cable. It's also flexible enough that the tails can be pushed back into the void once...

    Installing speaker cable in walls

Cool - thanks for that. Only BGM, as you say. Think the neighbours may have something to say if we stuck a 500w amp in the kitchen... G.

    Installing speaker cable in walls

Hi chaps, I'm about to install cable/faceplates for speakers in our new kitchen/dining extension. I've read a million things about suggested cable for speakers and understand that any cable buried in walls should be rated for fire spread etc etc, but I'd like to ask one specific question...

Cheers for that. Guess Caple are *def* off the menu then. Saw Leisure and Flavel yesterday, looking good. Only thing now is the missus wants an induction hob, and looks like only Britannia do them, and my pockets suddenly got deeper... G.

New combi system - query DHW pipe sizes

Cheers Tony. I'm happy with the requirement for 15mm to service taps etc, my lay understanding of that is that there's less impact on the pressure at one tap if a second is opened if they both branch off a 22 rather than both branching off a 15, no?

New combi system - query DHW pipe sizes

Cheers Tony. And this is the thing I don't get: if 20l/min is better in a 22mm bore, why is the whole run not 22, branching to 15mm for each service? Back to confused now :| Gary.

New combi system - query DHW pipe sizes

Hi Tony, Thanks for the clarification. Kind of makes me wonder - why bother with 22mm at all! If all it's doing is carrying to the first branch then 15mm for all subsequent branches, why not just go 15mm from the boiler? I'm not seeing what function the 1m length of 22mm pipe will end...

New combi system - query DHW pipe sizes

Hi all, We're currently having a new combi boiler installed as part of a biggish extension build, to replace an existing gravity system. The boiler we're intending to put in is a Wooster Bosch Greenstar 440 CDi...
