    ground floor rads, pipes coming from 1st floor ?

    I need to run some rad pipes for a new extension, is there any disadvantage from taking the pipes from the 1st floor to feed the ground floor rads, I could take them from the ground floor but would be a bit of hassle. any thoughts? Thanks

    10mm or 25mm over fascia vent

    I'm having a new roof, I have bought 25mm over fascia vent, but would prefer 10mm, any down side to the 10mm? The reason is the bottom tile is going to rise up with the vent under it and I don't want it coming up too much. Thanks

    new window cavity lintel, does it need to sit on eng bricks?

    Hello, im cutting a hole for a new window. im fitting a cavity lintel above. my question is, does the lintel need to sit on engineer bricks? There is currently bricks on the outer skin and blocks on the inner skin of the wall. can it bear 150mm straight onto this ? Thanks

    Boot lintel

    Hello. there is 2 course of brick that has the porch roof bolted to it so cant really come out. i saw an I beam with a plate welded to it in the steel fabricators and they said it was called a Boot Lintel. The blocks cant come down to the bricks height due to stairs head room. Thoughts

    A lintel is going in, the wall has been removed, but the outer brick cannot come up to the same level as the inner blocks, so is 2 courses lower. We can't put anything below the bricks due to head room. I am waiting for structural engineer to get back to my builder. But I'm wondering if a boot...

    ITS WORKING !!! i put a hose onto the pipe that goes over the small tank, seemed to sort it. the rads still come on up stairs tho, any clues? ta

    there is a 20mm pipe coming out of the bottom of the big tank in the loft which goes into the airing cupboard where there is a gate valve (which i cant turn, its stuck) and carries onto the boiler. ????

    ok thanks. what could i do to unblock it? and why would the rads come on upstairs ? when i select hotwater only, the boiler fires up and does something. Cheers
