Weld the doors up - it'll be very secure.

Cheers - I'll give that a go, perhaps try an inconspicuous panel first to see how it goes.

please dont cry foul when you lose an argument

What a load of tripe - rambling, gramatically incorrect, incoherent rubbish. Can I assume English is not your first language?

    paint removal

My father in law has just had the outside of his house painted. Unfortunately, during the painting, his metallic green car has become speckled with magnolia masonry paint. Does anybody have any suggestions on how best to remove this? I have contemplated: 1. T-Cut and a polishing...

    Leasing Rather Than Buying.

In my (bad) experience, you get the car and your company advises the Inland Revenue of the benefit in kind value. Then you hear nothing for about 2 years, followed by a letter from the revenue asking you to pay £6k within the next 14 days. S**t Thereafter, they adjust your tax code and, in my...

    Leasing Rather Than Buying.

I can live with that - reasonable compromise when the people saying it isn't MY car appreciate that it is bought, depreciated, insured, taxed and maintained at nil cost to me (apart from BIK which is a bit of a bum). Can't complain though - end up driving a brand new motor every 3 years/60k miles.

    Leasing Rather Than Buying.

Agreed, but you have to bear in mind that when the current model Range Rover was launched, they were under ownership of BMW hence why they have the same 4.4 V8 and 3.0 TD engines as found in the X5. The next model, however, will follow the route of the RR Sport, and use Jaguar engines (4.2 V8...

    Leasing Rather Than Buying.

I have been having a similar debate recently. My company gives me the option of a company car or cash alternative. Do I therefore: 1. Take the car 2. Take the cash and (a) buy something comparable, save the BIK taxation and have an asset at the end of the day or (b) take the cash and go...

    Leasing Rather Than Buying.

Are you sure?? I thought the MG ZT260 engine was the 4.6 litre lump used in the Mustang, whereas the new Range Rover Sport uses the 4.2 Jaguar engine (with or without supercharger), and the old(er) Range Rover uses the 4.4 litre BMW V8 (but not for much longer......) However, I may be wrong.

    Citroen C5 Diesel

I agree - saw one this morning just outside Stoke, and it looked quite sleek and nice. Not too keen on the colour though - bit of a girlie pink/purple. Need to investigate whether they are on my company car choice list (the last list I have is from June 2004 which, I think, was written...

Certainly not - Renault Espace and Toyota Previa are currently top of the list. Can't decide which to go for.

    Citroen C5 Diesel

D&J - yes, the Ford Galaxy, VW Sharan and Seat Alhambra all share the 1.9 TDi engine, in 115hp and 130 hp variants. In fact, they share just about everything apart from badges as they all roll off the same production line in Portugal. Oh, and the Sharan is just about the worst car I have...

    Towropes

I thought it was illegal to use a rope on a motorway, and a solid bar must be used; but a rope can be used on other roads? Maybe the rules have changed. The Highway code is unclear on this subject. http://www.highwaycode.gov.uk/index.htm

    Citroen C5 Diesel

I had a Xantia TD and that had 90 hp. Also, the Peugeot 406 HDI (turbo diesel) was available in 90 hp and 110 hp versions - Citroen and Peugeot both being part of the same PSA organisation hence share engines etc.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FARMERS FUEL PROTESTING

Sadly, yes, we have one or two dodgy areas. Guess every town/city is the same. Still, if you're not too choosy, gets your feet on the property ladder, independence, own space etc. Also allows more money to be wisely invested in beer, fags, women and cars.
