I have safely used a CD player with a 2 pin plug on a shaver socket with no problems at all, Most will trip if too much current is drawn.

Just a thought but is the clock set to auto and not manual?

Not sure if your machine would have a plastic water bottle on the back of the drum or not but if it has it may pay you to remove it and clean it out as it can stop the machine spinning and filling properly also when you have the bottle off poke a pencil into the aperture to remove any scum build...

I have to add I am very dissapointed that a machine costing as much as these Smegs do are breaking down so soon after the warranty has run out mine was not even 5 years old Ahh well live and learn.

Its a long time since I looked at one of these but if memory serves me well the pump runs by pressing against a belt to the gearbox has the spring come off that keeps the tension tight?

Have you checked to see if any of the concrete weights are coming loose? they may just need tightening up.!

I found the cause of the problem the main wash pump has gone the water just runs through it and into the base the machine never fills up as the tray gets full and the it just pumps out. Ahh well it was worth a shot have now replaced the machine. Many thanks for your help though.:)

Hi there anyone have any idea why my dishwasher fills the base and not the tank? it then trips the anti flood device and all it will do is empty and then come up with E3 I think which is something to do with water inlet ??? Any help would be appreciated.
