    Sounds like you have misconected the loop. ceiling rose's not only have the supply & return from the wall switch, they also have the lighting system loop in them. Its hard to explain so here is a diagram...

    Outside Cabling Question

    If its ouside it MUST be mechanicaly protected, plastic conduit will not do this. Steel conduit will, but would be very expensive. Get yourself some 3 core 2.5 mm SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable & you are sorted. Its a lot more money than t&e & placy conduit but you are safe.

    Put it on the wall near (but not too near) to the toilet. That way you dont have to move far to fiddle with the tempreature whilst reading the paper in your "Mancave".

    Great, thanks for the reply's I will go up the road tommorow & get a normal radiator valve to replace it. I have tried gently tapping the pin with a hammer & pulling it with some pliers, the stupid thing wont budge even 1 mm. So i am thinking it is fubar'd.
