Radiators warming up when hot water tap is on

Hello We have a Potterton Performa 24 boiler which I'm guessing is about 12 or so years old. Recently we have noticed that if the hot water is on for an extended period of time (running a bath or a shower) then most of the radiators in the house start to warm up. Anyone have any ideas about...

Bath - tiled surround causes flooding

Hello The previous owners of our house fitted the bath about 2 inches from the walls and tiled around it. This has created a sort of channel which fills with water during showers and causes water to spill all over the floor. Short of moving the bath closer to the wall can anyone think of a...

    Loose bricks

Hello I recently noticed that a few rows of bricks beneath our window sill are loose. A few months back we had a new upvc door fitted. I think the door must have blown shut by the wind and the vibration caused the bricks to become loose. The bricks won't fall out as they are held in with...

    Earthing issue

Hello We had an electricians report on our electrics last week. He suggested replacing the consumer unit to a more up to date one and running an earthing cable from under the stairs all the way to the other side of the house where the stopcock is. The stopcock comes in near the lounge and is...

    Cracks in rendering above window

Thanks for the reply Not noticed any cracking inside. I've uploaded some better pictures. The rest of the wall looks ok with no cracks. There is a chunk of missing rendering at the other end of the wall (not sure what happened there). The house is in a cluster of about 8 all of the same...

    Cracks in rendering above window

Hello I am about to purchase a 1930s bay fronted semi, offer has been accepted just waiting for mortgage approval. I went to look again at the house today and noticed a vertical crack in the rendering on the side of the house above a stairwell window reaching up to the top of the wall...
