    Work surface damage/repair

The quote was for a new floor. Have refused to pay it anyway. I'll either: 1) Pay for the % of damage caused by me. 2) Try and get the two or 3 little tiles replaced individually. Thanks for all your help everyone.

    Work surface damage/repair

Yes, its more water damage than warping. This has manifested itself in a slight change in colour of the affected areas. There are also some gaps appearing between a couple of pieces, which have come loose over time. I am almost certain this was not caused by me leaving the window open, but in...

Nope. Not here in Germany. Just about everything is stacked in the favour of the landlord over here as well. Us tenants get a bit of a raw deal.

    Work surface damage/repair

Hello all, Just to let you know the advice you gave was spot on and the work surface is looking much better now. The 120 paper did the trick, along with a bit of elbow grease! I've applied the oil and am allowing it to dry before applying a second coat, but its already looking better than...

Hi mr_mike (can I call you Mike!?! :D ) Cheers for the reply. Am 99.9% sure its oak. The following pic from google images looks very much like mine: One thing that does appear different is that mine doesn't look as "shiny", almost as if its not been treated properly, or maybe the last...

    Work surface damage/repair

Good afternoon all... I hope someone can help me with a problem? I'm due to leave my rented apartment next week and need to repair any minor damage caused since I have been there. One issue I am not sure about is the kitchen worksurface, which is made of wood. There are several stains...

Theres a tray at the bottom of the boiler. I slid this out and checked the temperature dial on there. This is set to maximum. To confirm this i turned it the other way, then back again and it all started to fire up again.

    Luke warm water

Forget the last bit. If I turn the heating on, then I can see something moving inside the pink pump. If I turn the heating off and leave just the water on then the pump stops spinning

    Luke warm water

Nope. Nothing seems to be happening on the pink one. If I turn on the heating and water together, then a little bit of water dribbles out of the pink one again, I can hear a noice, but thats it really. If i turn the switch on the black box on the pink pump then the noise drops, but dont think...

    Luke warm water

OK, have taken the screw off the pink pump. Bit of murky looking water dribbled out, which was cold. Cant see much in there. Should I just stick a screwdiver in an wiggle it about?

    Luke warm water

So you think the pink pump is the cause of the problem? If thats for the c/h, would it also stop the hot water for other stuff? If this is the cause, any ideas on how much I'd need to pay to get it fixed?

    Luke warm water

Done :) Chris - 82 degrees?!?!?! I wish! Best i can say about the temp right now is that you could wash a baby in it, its that cool! BTW Kev, to answer that question. I felt the tank in that litle gap and its not hot. Slightly warm at best I'd say.
