Hi I have just fitted an 'S' bend to our kitchen sink waste pipe to stop smells coming up from the drain, now the sink water drains really slowly. Its so bad that when the washing machine empties it backs up the pipe and in to the sink. Why would adding an 'S' bend slow the drainage flow...
