    tap foamer airatpor

I have seen taps that are very much like those in the rest of Europe that provide the water from the tap which seems to be airated (lots of bubble) On examanine the taps is seems that these are created by a screw in filter at the end of the tap. Has anyone any idea what these are called and...

socket spanner size for bath tap monoblock

OK, the top handle unscrews with a long 2 inch screw. You can then pull out what looks like a spacer 1.5” The tap handle sits on a splinned part of the spacer and the spacer sits on a splinned bit of the valve. You then remove the top chrome part of the tap by unscrewing the grub screw at the...

    fernox Ds-40 cleaning results

Added ds-40 tonight afet a long period of draining and flushing to get rid of the black water. I have changed my controller settings to a pumped system rather than gravity, to allow me to keep the pump running to circulate the system for a few days with out the heating or hot water. This is...

    fernox Ds-40 cleaning results

You are correct I do not have a by-pass. I have two rads that do not have TRV's. These rads have the valve wide open. I assume this will give sufficient flow back to the boiler?

    fernox Ds-40 cleaning results

I have a bad kettling boiler. I have tried both Sentinal X200 and fernox HEAVY DUTY CENTRAL HEATING RESTORER. These chemicals are both form of (EDTA) ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid. I belive that they somehow remove the limescale ion's in the water. These chemicals do not change pH of the...

nice problem for all you plumbers to solve for me, thanks

DS-3 and DS-40 are both acidic cleaners. I was told to keep away from these as it could cause more leaks. The system is only 9 years ol and I have had only 2 leaks (touch wood!!) nail and bad solder joint. Where would these types of cleaners create leaks if any. Th copper pipe work all looks...

    Air in CH System

checked this by blowing down it. The overflow it T'd iff the head tank feed. when I blow down the overflow the head tank bubbles, thus there can not be a blockage in the expasnsion overflow. At some stage I think I will check the system using a glass full of water over the overflow to see...

    Air in CH System

no 3 way valve. The system is gravity fed HW and Pumped CH. No air bleed. The only place for air to be released is the rad bleed valve and the overflow to the header tank. Air should eventually get to this point as the sir should rise, but the is does not seem to be happening Thanks

    Noisly-Boiler Steam Bubbles

Kev you mentioned about the pump leaking when the screw cap is taken off. Should this leak or not? Is the small leak actually creating a seal for the pump? The leak from my pump is only a very light trickly (a bit more than a drip) I have had the boiler making a very load kettling noise...

    Noisly-Boiler Steam Bubbles

There is a screw in the middly of the pump but this just lets me turn the pump if the thing is ceased. If I had an air leak would I have to keep bleeding the rads (I do not have to keep bleeding) Not sure on the potterton boiler or the pump position. I will check tonight. I am sure there are...
