    Suddenly stiff kitchen tap

Bet it's from B & Q. Our hot tap has done this twice appaently it's the cartridge inside which you just have to take to the plumbers merchants, so that you can get the same thing. It was a quick easy job.

    New central heating boiler

The heating worked both times on the following day but then started locking out each day since, morning and afternoon sessions. Yesterday it locked out after only being off for an hour. What would cause this? By the way the air is now collecting in the last upstairs rad, where it has...

    New central heating boiler

Completely ignoring those postings... a sparky called round and the central heating valve was working BUT the plumbers had shoved the old cylinder stat on the cylinder and it was fastened together with the strapping. It just fell off in bits, which explains why the hot water was so hot no matter...

Well the plumber paid us a visit. The heating hadn't come on this morning (rather it made it's 5 min start then cut out) so we left it til he arrived. The CH heating valve stuck, the boiler ran a few mins then locked out and didn't open until the system had cooled down then it ran. He checked...

    New central heating boiler

I contacted Hep-Heating again and asked Can you tell me whether it would cause problems if 1. the central heating expansion tank refill pipe is connected into the system just before it returns to the boiler (not before the pump on the flow pipe as recommended in the Micron install. guide)...

    New central heating boiler

Still get loads of whooshing air sound in boiler. Lots of air collecting in one upstairs rad (strangely in the middle of the run) and the expansion tank feed occassionally gets quite warm. And because I'd turned up the boiler setting to halfway yesterday it soon shut off again this morning

    New central heating boiler

The return from the cylinder and the CH expansion feed pipe is on the return pipe to the boiler LHS (under floor). The pump is after the bypass pipe on the RHS flow side of the boiler (under floor). Is this wrong?

    Can anyone tell me this.

The new valves (at the opposite end of the TRV's) turn about 12 turns (we just have little spindles on the older rads)

    Central Heating for thickies

I meant the real plumbers who give good advise on this site rather than the diy-ers or the ones who install your heating and tell you a load of BS. (You're twisting my words Shaggy)

    Central Heating for thickies

There's an explanation of how CH works on the Pegler website, which might help many of the novices who visit this site to glean info off the real plumbers!

    New central heating boiler

The heating actually came on by itself this morning and stayed on . All rads were hot but we have a whooshing sound coming from the boiler, like water rising up on air.

    Glow Worm Micron 80FF problems

The plumber said he checked both of these when I asked him last week. Are the honeywell ones not as good. They're not as substantial looking as the Peglers
