    Gap in Summerhouse join

Hi all. Just thought I'd post an update of the situation and the solution to this problem in case it helps anyone in future. So I went out and bought a Draper mini moisture meter from toolstation to check the moisture content of the flooring of the summerhouse (SH). Turns out I had a lot of...

    Gap in Summerhouse join

Hi all. My summerhouse which was built a couple of years ago has recently developed a gap in one of the uprights. It must have happened within the past 2 months because I had artificial grass laid just 2 months ago and it was fine for at least a month since. Gap is about 5mm wide. Not sure what...

In case it helps anyone in future, just wanted to confirm that after following all the tests advised above the fault lay with the programmer. Old one out, new one in then I saw 230V at the 2way valve port electrical box. Set programmer C/H to on and (surprisingly) didn't hear it spool up...

Ahh makes sense seeing the diagram. That will complete the diagnostics for the electrics stem. I bought a replacement programmer yesterday so may just change it out anyway. If it fails intermittently thereafter I can (probably) safely assume the issue to be with the backplate. Thanks again.

    What's next...

Update. So far so good in terms of the fault diagnosis. No power being seen at the electrical box for the 2port valve. Compared this with the boiler and the pump as both also have electrical boxes. They showed 230/240 when hot water was being being called for. My assumption therefore is that the...

    What's next...

Thanks Stem. Very useful additional steps. My task will be simplified by way of the fact that there is no room thermostat to test. Feeling positive about the task in hand now. Have performed a number of changes to the system myself in the past. Replaced the timer/programer, swapped out the pump...

    What's next...

Tap stat Not sure if it's the same thing but it's the one with the TRV(drayton 4) looking head with a spindly wire going to a thermometer attached a third of the way up the hot water cylinder. So that means it can't be that right? which leaves the clock/programmer if I see 230v across brown and...

    What's next...

Thanks for the replies fellas. Thought my brief description was sufficient but realise I didn't state what was affected. @stem - "So what is the motorised valve you refer to controlling?" - Hot water to rads. @MikeCip - Are you asking why your central heating isn't working? - No. It isn't...

    What's next...

Breifly. Gravity fed system (older/simpler with tap stat on cylinder) Hot water only, or water +C/H (No C/H only option. 2 way mechanical port packed in. Can be operated manually by the switch so valve is definitelly ok. Changed Syncron. No Joy. Changed head. Still no joy. Looking for the next...

Central heating not coming on with timer

Sorry Oldbutnot dead. The tap stat isn't on the heating circuit, it's on the hot water part. There isn't a single point (wall) thermostat for the radiators. All the rads in the house have their own TRV's. I wasn't clear what you had meant by "I'd be more suspicious of the thermostat" and since...

Central heating not coming on with timer

Thanks guys. Thankfully i'm competent with a multimeter so will do that check first. I've also flushed my system a few times so if it turns out that current is reaching the valve I'll move on to take the opportunity in going the whole hog and replacing the entire unit. I haven't done it in...

Central heating not coming on with timer

Hi Stem. It's a conventional boiler system. 2 - port valve. Pretty certain it's an on/off operation switch exactly the same in function, though not in looks to this : . (2:17 shows the functionality) I'm not at home at the moment but will certainly give it a try. Since the problem is that the...

Central heating not coming on with timer

Hi. I've had this problem for a little while where my central heating won't come on when it is timed to. I can manually switch on the C/H via the mortorised valve (manual lever) but there is obviously something causing the problem. I've also changed the syncronised valve's motor but the problem...

Yale HSA6400 or Yale Easy Fit Telecommunication Alarm?

Rehashing an old post here but does anyone know the answer to the original question which if I've read correctly is "what's the difference between the Yale models HSA6400 and the Easy Fit Telecommunicating Alarm - Kit 2. I'm looking into this now and as well as what is mention by the OP...
