Cheers, I am thinking now to go with 100mm between rafters and the thermal quilt underneath [thermal resistence of 6.1]. That way, I can still keep the recommended 50mm air gap.

Thanks Chukka63, had not thought about quilt - thought Kingspan easier. The roof is unfortunately tiled and felted, so warm roof now not possible [I think]. Therefore could go with the 100mm Kingspan, then quilt underneath, also need vapour barrier, does this go on last before plasterboard? Can...
