Haha not at all Im all up for moving with the times, but its crap fact. And I dont like to see people getting ripped off. Ive seen many cases where innocent folk getting conned by hard selling salesmen who dont have a clue what theyre talking about charging what could pay for a complete roof...

You should always use a slate & half where needed you will get a better fix and bond than using smaller cuts, as once the scaffold is down you dont really want to be going back on the roof for repairs. Trust me its worth spending the extra

From what I can see, you would benefit from pointing and leading the whole chimney. Im not being rude, but slapping sealents everywhere is just a bodge waste of time, you dont want your battens and rafters getting in a worse condition than they already are or you will be looking at a re roof.
