new rads have cocked up my system. Help needed!

I had a small downstairs extension built which included two new rads. My system was all 15mm piping and the two new rads were reduced to microbore. after initial bleeding the two new rads all seemed to work O/K I then replaced one of my old rads, again downstairs, with another new one, again...

Thanks for the replies. I downloaded the info and it seems as clear as any technical info can be. It looks as though the site I had in mind is going to be O/K. Many thanks Bob

supporting brickwork is it o/k ?

It just so happens that I`ve got a 9" x 2" foor joist spare which I can cut down to fit the RSJ. This is long enough to make two spars, that should be enough I think because at the gable end of the room, all is bricked in O/K. Thanks again Masona.

supporting brickwork is it o/k ?

Seen picture. Got the idea now. Obvious when you know how isn`t it? I think this is a good idea, and saves me trying to get the welder up the ladder!! (The wallplate is bolted through the RSJ) Many thanks Bob

supporting brickwork is it o/k ?

Thanks for the info, I`m not too sure I know exactly what you meen , and it would be great if you could post a scetch. I will read through again and try to get it . Again, many thanks. Bob There is already a wallplate on top of the RSJ`s which the roof joists are birds- mouthed onto. I pressume...

supporting brickwork is it o/k ?

Yes, thats what I was thinking. I would be happier if I could see some sort of brace between them. The roof joists are already braced accross the span with 4x2`s. on each joist. I was always under the impresion that the stress from a load above was generated downwards in a triangular...

supporting brickwork is it o/k ?

Can`t do photo, but if you know what I mean it`s like the RSJ`s are standing on brick pillars, and It`s just that the brickwork beneath them only projects outward from the joists to one side. It falls straight down vertically from the inside of each joist. Bob. See this Sketch

supporting brickwork is it o/k ?

I have had a new extension built and the roof is supported by two long RSJ`s which the roof timbers rest on. Halfway up the roofline (purlins) At the end where they rest onto the old existing brickwork, they are on concrete padstones but the brickwork beneath these padstones has been cut...

damproofing before laying new floor tiles

I want to lay new ceramic floor tiles over existing quarries. The old tiles look pretty dry to me but there isn`t a damproof membrane beneath them. Is there a product that I can paint on before laying the new tiles just to ensure the new floor isn`t damp? I don't want to excavate the old floor.

    bathroom floor

Cheers! Thats what I thought as the only solution, I don`t have to expose the whole depth of the joists so it should be o/k. Bob.

    bathroom floor

No; I am exposing the beams in the room below, so there won`t be enough space between the plasterboards and the underneath of the flooring to fit noggins.

    bathroom floor

If I use ply, how do I support the joints , or do they make tongue and groove ply? I can`1t use noggins as they will show below. Bob
