    Nah it works by leverage so most of the weight is going at 90 degrees into the wall, not straight down into the top of the door frame. I've actually got one that I use at home. Check out this parody ad to see what I mean:

    No threading eqipment. I was hoping to buy it in pre-cut pre-threaded lengths but I'm beginning to think that's just something they do in American hardware stores and not so much in the UK. The keyclamps look like a nicer way to do it anyway.
