Ok, went to a local plumbing store, got a mixer bar and some funny angled fixings, but the bar fitted perfectly. Done! Its nothing fancy but it works. Just have to clean up that grouting now.... Thanks for your help guys, most useful.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, it is probably easiest to fit a new mixer than try to track down the right part. But can you see in the picture how the pipes attach? ie, not through the wall, but on the side. Will a new mixer fit on to these existing fixings?
