    Thanks - I nearly persuaded myself that that might work, but I think that would still give me the same problem of having a cable route with one length (the vertical one in this case) whose position wouldn't be flagged up when the hood's in place.

    Thanks, that's a very good point - is that still true if the connection plate for the hood is no longer visible as it will be hidden behind the (purely decorative) 'chimney' of the hood?

    Hello all, I'm chasing a cable through a wall to run a cooker hood from an FCU on a spur. Obviously, the FCU will be to one side of the cooker, so the cable has to go up about a metre, turn 90 degrees and run for about 70cm to the hood. I just have one simple question that I can't...
