    VW Touran.

Thanks for the reply, I wonder why the guy from the RAC said it was leaking and changed it then. He left the damaged seal with the Mrs and told her she should show the garage and ask them to clean the diesel off the engine parts.

    VW Touran.

Hi all, I have a VW Touran TDI which was recently serviced, part of the service included the replacement of the fuel filter. The day after the Service, my wife used the car and noticed a strong smell of Diesel, on inspection it looked to be leaking and so she called the RAC who confirmed...

    Mice

I would be surprised if the mice are coming from under the floor in a new build. I caught 23 mice in my house last year, they were everywhere and my house is clean also. I would hear them eating their way through crisp packets when I went in the kitchen at night. Since putting down traps...

    WORRIED ABOUT BOILER BEING CONDEMNED!

Nobody could tell you that but the advice they have given you is all good, you should follow it before you are possibly putting a price on a life instead.

    Glow-worm Flexicom problem

The password is 96, if you give the details of the flow(d40) and Return (d41) temperatures then your questions would be easily answered. I would put money on the Heat exchanger or pump being blocked though.

The installer is looking to stay below the VAT threahold and in doing so is passing the benefits onto you. Have you had any other quotes and if so is the fact he is not VAT registered refect in the price quoted? As long as the installation is per the manufacturers instructions and serviced...

    Builder overcharging?

And the OP wonders why builders are reluctant to take on small jobs.

    BG Service

I get this all the time, customer calls to report breakdown and it turns out someone else has serviced the boiler but won't come out and do a repair. The breakdown would have been prevented if the service was done correctly in the first place.

Potterton Performa 24 - Cutting Out / HW Feeding Rads

Doesn't this boiler have a filter incorporated in the return isolation valve which can become blocked?

Flue not sealed- Boiler closed down as Immediately Dangerous

I thought so, no way would the original guy have missed the fact the flue was not correctly connected. Whilst fitting/cutting the cupboard round the boiler and flue the Kitchen fitters have disturbed the flue would be my best bet. This would be an easy fix and I would suggest getting a RGI...

Flue not sealed- Boiler closed down as Immediately Dangerous

Have you had a new kitchen fitted in the 14 months since the last Service?

Ignition lockout on Baxi HE 50 Plus

It is hard to say as it could be a number of things causing the lockout. It is quite possible that as part of the service the problem is simple, identified and cured, it is also possible that part's are required.

Unsecured turret - Boiler at risk

Can you inspect the full length of this flue or is it concealed in the ceiling void without inspection hatches?

    External oak doors.

Hello all. I'm looking to replace my Garage door (automated) and front door plus side panel in oak. Is this a good idea (practical)? If so should I be looking for solid construction or other? Thanks in advance.

Can a boiler flue have 2 90o bends & run downwards?

Imagine turning up to service it, you would need a scaffold tower on board. Is this boiler on the top floor with roof space above it?

Back boiler - new cylinder fitted no hot water

There is nothing to worry about, give the guy a chance to clear what will be a simple to clear airlock on the gravity side and sort the fault with The immersion. Some of the comments on here are ridiculous.

    Raising Floor Level

Hi all. I have taken a part of my garage and formed a downstairs cloakroom with new door way from the hallway. The difference from the two floor levels is 200mm. My question is what is the best practice for raising the floor level to match the existing? I plan to screed but what...
