I get this all the time, customer calls to report breakdown and it turns out someone else has serviced the boiler but won't come out and do a repair. The breakdown would have been prevented if the service was done correctly in the first place.

I thought so, no way would the original guy have missed the fact the flue was not correctly connected. Whilst fitting/cutting the cupboard round the boiler and flue the Kitchen fitters have disturbed the flue would be my best bet. This would be an easy fix and I would suggest getting a RGI...

Have you had a new kitchen fitted in the 14 months since the last Service?

It is hard to say as it could be a number of things causing the lockout. It is quite possible that as part of the service the problem is simple, identified and cured, it is also possible that part's are required.

Can you inspect the full length of this flue or is it concealed in the ceiling void without inspection hatches?
