Hmmm. Not convinced. I usually find it very hard to remove from glass - perhaps I'm using the wrong type of silicone sealer? Is dry glazing so terribly the wrong thing to use?

I'm also concerned that I might smear silicone over the visible wood surface and make it difficult to maintain ie apply a new coat of finish when necessary. The wood is vacuum treated so only needs a finish for decoration and have used a clear one to keep the golden colour of the timber so...

It's easy to make mistakes with frequent conversions back and forth between units. Also simpler to think in one set of units than a mixture. Look what happened at NASA!

Hi Sorry, can't keep up! Can we keep to metric please? What do you recommend timber-wise to prevent excessive loading on the glass? For excessive snowfall, we would clear the roof in any case before it changed to wet heavy stuff.
