cheers, changed the cap eventually and it worked spot on. used a 1000ma 16v one from maplins. 64p :)

Just took the board out of the washing machine to check the c17 cap and noticed quite a bit of soot on other components. the c17 cap is slightly domed but it looks like something else has gone. can anyone shed a bit of light please? thanks

Hi, the 5th washer in 8 years has just broken. its a hotpoint wf540. im under the impression you can tell what the problem is by the flashing lights. im not sure which flashing lights though. iv took a photo, see below. all of the lights in the pic flash. please help as weve no idea...
