It was a young plumber from Dynorod who are now part of British Gas - he changed the ball valve again - said thats all he could do, strangely the tank did not overflow on Sunday, all very mysterious I have a local plumber coming to inspect the tank properly on Wed pm. Thanks for your help, Xray

Thanks So why does the ball valve in the Elson tank not stop the tank from overfilling?As I say I have no DIY knowledge. Would the back fill cold water go to a different part of the tank than the part with the ball valve ? Apolgies if this is a stupid question but I know nothing about these...

Thanks, There is no immersion heater - the tank just stores the hot water which has been heated by a gas heater in the warm air unit .Unfortunately I can,t get in the loft to get the details on the tank - I am over 60 and live alone .

The tank is just used to store the hot water - does a pinholed coil mean that the tank needs replacing ? I know nothing about plumbing I am just tired of this problem which seems to be never ending. Thanks for your help
