Thanks for your replies guys.. So sounds like best plan is to go over the walls with sand and cement 4:1 (especially to patch all the bad areas) then just D&D with plasterboard followed by a skim all over, is this correct? As for the ceiling I really don't fancy going through taking it...

Trying to get a little more Sound Deadening by using SoundBloc Board.

The lime plaster in areas was so badly blown that it was just falling off in chunks so I took the whole lot back where it was worst.

So get to the Chimney breast where I am hoping (even still) to hang an LCD off of. IS the concrete supposed to crumble this easily. Looks like a little too much aggregate in some areas.

Went in quite nicely and only a little irritating as well.

Its got to be Rockwool :o). Nice toy I 'borrowed' from work.

You can probably see the patch of plaster (bottom left of picture) where it looks like this may have happened before.

Found that the fire place was a quite a lot wider than the unit itself :o)

Started taking of the picture rail, lumps of plaster started coming away. Err.. what's this mud and mouse pubes crap???
