    John Thanks for the speedy reply! The system was installed by the previous owner, and I have no contractual commitment with ADT, so no worries there. Will take a look when I get home from work tonight, and see if I can do it myself - should be quite simple assuming I can isolate the phone line...

    Like the previous posters, I've moved into a house which was previously monitored by ADT. I checked my phonebill to see my alarm has been calling ADT for a 7 second chat every morning. It's only 12p per call, but that racks up to £53 a year! I telephoned ADT and they want to charge me £120...
