    I'm seeking recommendations for water based contact adhesives suitable for sticking wood veneer to MDF board. This is for loudspeaker cabinets, which have side panels too wide for iron-on veneer without joins.

    Veneer - oak alternatives ?

    My current cabinets were simply butt jointed MDF (screwed and glued), then veneered over the top. The MDF panel edges are thus hidden. They look a bit like these commercial designs: http://www.avihifi.co.uk/duo.html

    Yes, I did consider that, but the problem would be achieving an accurate mitre joint at the cabinet corners. Using veneer edging wouldn't look very good.
