    thanks for the reply I wasn't going to fix the battens directly to the wall but to the sides/top of the full length wardrobe frame that runs fully along the wall where the noise is coming from , it would be too bigger job for me to remove the wardrobe.

    only issue is this adds to the size of finished install using 50ml battens and the board is just about acceptable for my good lady re for the wardrobe depth reduction, doing it by simple battens would this not be worth while to part reduce the noise or would i be wasting my money time/effort ...

    ok so ive come to a solution, maybe not the best but it fits with my budget/skill set I intend to batten out the full length of the wardrobe then fit the 15ml acoustic plasterboard so it forms a 2inch cavity from the wall where the noise is coming from ,only question left is is it worth filling...

    Decking stain

    Hi anyone know if i can treat my new decking tiles with an ordinary fence stain prior to coating it with decking stain preserver as the colours on the tiles are very differing and not sure the stain would even up the differing shades.

    Hi I have a crumbling drain inspection chamber which is shedding bits of concrete into the drain with obvious consequences, I have tried 4/1 sand cement 4/1 sharp sand cement but it still cracks away after the frosts , what mix materials should I use so this wont happen ?
