    Water Too Hot

Hello The hot water is too hot. I have checked the water on the boiler and it shows 45 when the boiler isn't fired up. When it is fired up, it increases to 63. I have read online the DHW should be set between 50 and 60. I feel mine is actually set at 45? Any advise please?

    Dual Flush Button on WC

Thank you. It certainly looks like it. The toilet is only three years old, so I'd be surprised if it is disconinued. Would I be better off just completely replacing the whole thing again but with a different push button?

    Dual Flush Button on WC

The lid has been off for over a week now. It works perfectly fine when not using the button, and just flushing it manually.

    Dual Flush Button on WC

Hi I've had a problem with a toilet cistern - basically it started to continually leak water into the bowl from the cistern. Plumber has been out twice now and the problem has now come back. The last time he came out, he replaced the syphon and it appeared fixed for a few days but has now...

    Starting Point for Wallpaper

Thank you. I used my dad's tools. I expected to find a plumb line in his bag but it wasn't there. I used a spirit level and it seems to have done the same job :-)

    Starting Point for Wallpaper

I don't think I did too bad! I'd give myself an 8.5 out of 10 lol. My son is away for a few days so I'm doing a little make-over. Tomorrow I will be using furniture paint on his chest of drawers and wardrobe (it's just second hand furniture for the time being), buying a new light fitting from...

    Starting Point for Wallpaper

Thanks, I'm pretty sure that's the way my dad told me. Thank you. And wallpaper size - is it twice as much water than normal mix?

    Starting Point for Wallpaper

Hi I'm doing a feature wall for my son's bedroom - no chimney breast and no large pattern. Its just brick effect wallpaper. I've worked out that it's five and a half widths/drops of wallpaper. Where do I start my papering? Also, I seem to remember my dad telling me that I paper away from...

    Advice Re Boiler and Location

Pleased to say it is all sorted. Drove 230 miles last night. Picked up my nephew who is very familiar with sorting problems and repairs. The tank wasn't drained down at all - there was just a bit of a blockage and air in the system. There is a Boss for an immersion heater. I've arranged to...

No worries. I've spoken to a couple now and it is as to be expected. People are busy until Thursday or Friday.

    Advice Re Boiler and Location

This is the latest update: Baxi have been out and repaired the boiler. They have fitted a new pcb board and said the boiler is working. However, they have had to shut it off because, my own plumber drained down the system and left it drained down. I believe that my own plumber told me to...

    Advice Re Boiler and Location

Thank you. I guess I will be replacing the boiler, if the head is off the motorised valve, I assume that means it's not going to work? I don't want external pipes as it is an end of terrace house and the kitchen where the boiler is housed is at the front. Fingers crossed Baxi will tell me...

    Advice Re Boiler and Location

What exactly do you mean when you say the 'head has been removed'? The current boiler is a baxi solo 2. What is a like for like boiler to replace this - they don't seem to do these now. There are boilers called 'system boilers' (made by baxi) - am I looking at the correct products...
