Does anyone sell pocket door framing - without runners

I'm installing a pocket door based on a sliding metal door that comes with the runners and top rail etc included. If I built the wall from normal studwork, it seems the thinneest is would end up is 48mm either side of the door pocket. Plenty of firms sell pocket door systems that are much more...

    Gardtec alarm appears dead

I still haven't ha a chance to check the voltages (my multimeter seems to have died and I need to purchase a new one). However, solving a different issue around the house has resolved why the issue occurred... Rats got into the void under the house during the cold weather through a broken...

    Gardtec alarm appears dead

I've used one to check power to the fuse connection and power coming from the backup battery that are both fine. Where else should I be testing? Across the terminals where the wires connect leading out to sensors and the keypad from the control unit?

    Gardtec alarm appears dead

I got some new fuses and swapped the blown one out. Unfortunately everything else remains the same - I reconnected the power and the LED comes on as before, but nothing else happens - the keypad is still completely dead. I tried another fuse just in case the replacement was faulty, but no luck...

    Gardtec alarm appears dead

Great. Thanks for the suggestions. Will try this and see what happens. Which wires do you mean by the positive AUX wires? Is this the incoming ones from the mains? At present when I open the case I isolate the whole unit by popping out the fuse holder from the spur that the control box is...

    Gardtec alarm appears dead

Thanks for the reply. I've attached a few images below. On removing the cover this time, I realised that the PCB had a plastic cover over the front face of it. Removing this revealed a fuse that I hadn't seen before (bottom left of one of the pics). It appears to have blown. The writing on it...

    Gardtec alarm appears dead

My house has a Gardtec alarm system - installed about 10 years ago now. Over Christmas (I was away), neighbours told me that the external sounder went off on two occasions. On returning, the LCD on the keypad appeared to be completely dead. I assumed some sort of power failure at this stage...

Bell box making erratic noises (possibly old battery?)

Thanks for this info - It sounds like I'll need to replace it (or hope that the weather warms up). So, from what you say, when it starts making the noises there's nothing that can be done to disable it (as its temperature related), other than smashing the thing with a hammer (which I would've...

Bell box making erratic noises (possibly old battery?)

I have a Gardtec alarm system (I'm not sure of the model - it was fitted about 5 years ago by Dyno-Secure). Last night, when the weather was very cold, the sounder outside started making short squawks at random intervals - I assume that this behaviour was due to the unusually cold temperature...
