What I think they could be is feed in,feed out and feed to the fan which connects into C,the other two would be switch wire for the light and switch wire fir the fan which connects into L1
Ive seen a few where we change the stat and it works for maybe a day or two, then get a call to say its not working we go back test it again and everything is sound.Problem is sometimes to be the off peak meter so the hydro would get called.
It looks like the heating system couldve been done for the over 60s with the scottish executive, those two switches one wouldve been for the 24hr side of the heater and off peak for the storage side.Hope you took the heaters to the scrappies get some money for them haha.
good to see your...
How you getting with this project?
That fuse board will be off peak for the storage heaters, then 24hr for panel heaters, convector heater, then off peak for the immersion.
Did you get it rewired?
does the noise happen no matter what plug you use?this might sound abit strange maybe try them at a friends house see if the noise is there, other then that im not sure sorry about that.
yeah use the tester to check which one is the feed which goes into C common,is the back box metal or plastic?
Remember to switch the power off once you have found out which one is the feed.
Havent got round to changing them yet, have you thought about getting your electrics checked to double check what voltage ur getting?
im not sure why your headphones are making that noise will be interesting to see whats causing it.

One brown wire will be the feed which goes into C and the other brown wire will be the switch wire which goes into L1 thats how i see it.whats the blue wire doing is it in a connector block?
