    Stuart Turner single pump issue

I fitted the shower (mixer bar) but didn't fit a NRV.

    Stuart Turner single pump issue

Yes, absolutely fine. It's a single sided (H/W only) pump.

    Stuart Turner single pump issue

You suggested I shut them, which is what I did. When I opened them, the pump ran for 2 or 3 seconds. I didn't run the hot water with the valves closed - I just assumed with no pump in the circuit I'd be back to low pressure or none at all. Sorry for the confusion.

I isolated those valves & the problem went away. Trouble is, so did my hot water supply.

    Hotpoint RLA36 larder fridge issue

I have a 12 year old Hotpoint RLA36 larder fridge that freezes anything close to the back interior wall. The door seal looks intact & the drain hole isn't blocked. It's set to Temp 3 (Normal) but if I lower it, it doesn't get cold enough. I don't use it to chill warm food. I feel the air...

Thank you. Yes, I have those & will give it a go.

    Stuart Turner single pump issue

I don't believe so. Where would one be fitted & for what purpose?

Thanks again Rob. I can't fault your logic. Is that perhaps why my ceiling's fallen in?

    Stuart Turner single pump issue

Sorry to say that it hasn't solved the problem. :censored: With no pressure in the vessel, it usually lasts a few weeks before it starts cycling again. After adding 0.9bar of pressure, it has lasted just a few hours before the problem re appears. Let me stress again, there's no leak in the...

    Stuart Turner single pump issue

Thanks very much Rob. I think you've solved the problem for me. It seems the bicycle pump I was using to pre-charge the vessel wasn't up to the job plus I was trying to charge it when mounted. I took the spare vessel to my garage compressor & put 0.9 bar of air in it. Remounted it & all seems...

    Stuart Turner single pump issue

I have a Stuart Turner U2.0 bar Single pump fitted to boost my hot water. It's about 10 years old but it's had the same problem from day 1 & ST aren't very helpful so I wonder if someone can advise. Every hour or two, it bursts into life for a few seconds & then switches off. I have hot...

    What's wrong with my fridge?

I'm in the UK & have an 11 year old Hotpoint Future fridge & the back of it keeps freezing food. The seals are good, the temp setting is "normal", I don't add hot food to chill in it & don't open it more than necessary ie I've checked the basics & haven't found the solution. There seems to be...

    Petrol hedgetrimmer problem

SUCCESS! I finally got around to removing the (sealed) silencer & it appeared to be OK. I then spent 15 minutes bashing it against an anvil until I got lots of carbon deposits out. Reassembled & it runs perfectly at all angles. Many thanks to all who got involved in this problem, especially...

    Petrol hedgetrimmer problem

Thanks Nige. It went wrong quite suddenly so I doubt it's clogged. However, I'm not far from setting the whole thing on fire!

    Petrol hedgetrimmer problem

Sorry for the late reply. I'll try removing the silencer & see if it runs better. It used to run best when pointing upwards, but now it cuts out straight away when vertical. Maybe there is a loose baffle, as you suggest. I'm fairly certain nothing is wrong on the inlet side or electrics so...

    Petrol hedgetrimmer problem

Hi John. I've finally had another look at the hedgetrimmer (it has been too cold in the garage for the past few months). Yet again, I pulled the new carb off looking for air leaks. I removed the heat insulator too so I could actually see the piston. No air leaks anywhere that I could see &...

    Petrol hedgetrimmer problem

Thanks again, John. Yes, I think it's the slow running mixture screw, but it's full throttle I'm having the problem with. I did fit this replacement engine as I loaned it to someone who ran without oil & seized it. I'll strip & inspect as you suggest, looking for air leaks. I'l keep you...

    Petrol hedgetrimmer problem

Thanks John. We know it has to be fuel related so there aren't too many things it can be on a simple 2 stroke engine. Plenty of fuel in the tank & no air bubbles in the fuel line. BTW, the new carb doesn't have the tiny air hole that leads to the crankcase like the original carb had but the...

    Petrol hedgetrimmer problem

Hi John. Well, I fitted the new carb & it still bogs down & runs faster or slower depending on which way it's facing. Could it be a fracture in the heatproof manifold that's sucking in air to cause bogging down? I'm running out of things to replace! Cheers, Paul

    Petrol hedgetrimmer problem

Ethanol causes more problems than it's supposed to solve. Perhaps my problem is an air leak into the black rubber fuel pipe but I don't have any spare. I've tried putting my finger around the grommet while it is running but it doesn't cure the fault. Hopefully a new carb will. 1 month before...
