    all is not good now! boiler now seems to not fire up at all no matter how much you bang it, could this still be the relay or more likely to be something more? thanks again

    Yes it is the 24i RSF, I have found that putting pressure on the main panel just by where the pilot light window is seems to work but no idea why!

    also, pressure gauge seems to be staying near the red mark so no movement there

    thanks for replies, I gave the front of the boiler a bang and it sparked up, however it doesn't stay on as after 30 mins or so its back to square one! could this be something "sticking" inside the boiler?

    don't think so as the pressure is staying at the correct level after I opened the valve and increased it, just not firing up!
