Central Heating OK but hot taps are only lukewarm

Some more info: The cyclinder is one of these I think: http://www.nu-heat.co.uk/s.nl/it.I/id.706/.f?sc=7&category=250 But maybe a slightly earlier model as it doesn't seem to have a "shunt pump"

Central Heating OK but hot taps are only lukewarm

Pressure reads about 2.7 bar If I turn on the immersion heater on the water cylinder it goes even higher! That's mainly why I don't want to turn it on. Is this safe? How can I get it down?

Central Heating OK but hot taps are only lukewarm

I've just moved into a new home and have discovered that that although the central heating (underfloor heating in this case) and water fed heated towel rails work fine, the hot water taps only provide warmish water that soon goes cold; maybe enough for one quick lukewarm shower but no good for a...

TV goes blank when I flick light switch

I got a regulated mains adapter from Maplin. Unfortunately it doesn't make much difference. I guess the HDMI\Cat5 converter itself is probably duff?

TV goes blank when I flick light switch

Hello everybody I have recently upgraded to Sky HD. I use a HDMI\Cat 5 extender to run the cable to my TV. It's similar to this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neet%C2%AE-Extender-Cat5e-network-cable/dp/B002ECYEYA Now every time I turn anything on or off in the house (eg light switch...

What have I done to my Megaflow?

It did turn out to be the filter in the end. It didn't look very blocked but after I cleaned it and put it back it made a big difference. Thanks to everybody that helped.

What have I done to my Megaflow?

Oh dear. That's quite worrying. All I can say is that immediately after the valve the pipe splits in two: one pipe goes to the boiler and the other feeds cold water to the rest of the flat. When I turn that tap off it definately stops cold water flowing in the kitchen and everywhere else. It...

What have I done to my Megaflow?

I've rechecked the cold water isolation valve. As a few of you suspected it doesn't look quite fully open. I can't turn it any more by hand though - I'll try to get hold of a pair of these "pump pliers". Once I get it fully open should I regenerate the air gap again?

What have I done to my Megaflow?

Much better than the cold water pressure in the bathroom upstairs but not quite as good as it was previously. Overall I'd say the downstairs pressure is at an acceptable level even if it is a little weaker than before; it's the pressure upstairs that is my cause for concern. Upstairs the...

What have I done to my Megaflow?

I found this in the maintenance section of the instruction manual: http://www.heatraesadia.com/docs/Megaflo_systemfit_-_Issue_5_-_36005882.pdf section 8.3 So I should check this out?

What have I done to my Megaflow?

The stopcock is what I think is called a "quarter turn valve". I'm pretty sure that it is fully open - it wasn't particularly difficult to turn. Both hot and cold are effected. The pressure from the hot tap is perhaps very slightly higher than the cold tap but still less than before.

What have I done to my Megaflow?

Hello all! My Megaflow worked fine before - water pressure was good upstairs and downstairs. In order to disconnect a broken washing machine I turned off the water at the mains and drained all the hot and cold water from the system (I realise now that this wasn't actually necessary)...
