It was a Velux, we bought it along with the flashing kit. The timber for the frame was also supplied by us and the builder bought the felt. The builders view is that it's the roof that is at fault, not his installation.

The leak starts at the top left (looking at it from inside) and this is where it gushes in. There is a smaller drip from the bottom left but I think this is where it has gone down the frame rather than coming in from outside. sorry to ask a silly question but what is the front flashing...

Sorry it's taken so long to get pictures. Quick update, builder came round, laid some more felt around velux and repatched the area where the chimney had been removed. Definately a lot less leakage but still some coming in when tested with a hose so his suggestion is a new roof. Here are...

Part of the problem is that the plumber put the flue in, but a different builder did the rest of the work. I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

Thanks PlumbGas, I've just spoken to them and they also think that 8l/min is likely to be the hot from boiler rather than mains. They said that all their thermostatic showers for use with combis are desigined to work on min 8l/min so any should be fine but ones with 8' drench heads won't be...
