How do you recharge the expansion vessel ?

I have tried it with the boiler off & the pressure remained at 1 bar, never moved, its only when it is on thet the pressure rises & falls??????????????

I can set the pressure to 1 bar, leave it with the boiler running for a couple of hours, when I check it, it reads 2.5 bar!, if I leave it it will go to 3 bar. I blow the pressure off back to 2 bar then when I check it later it reads .5bar, any ideas????
