    automatic by-pass differential valve

I do not want to heat up all rooms with the TRVs set high, i only opened them up to help provide the info to establish what was or could be wrong with the bypass valve.

    automatic by-pass differential valve

The make of the ABV is a Evolve 22mm CH auto bypass valve at £15.95, don't know if it is a good one or a cheap one. I have noticed that when the boiler stops firing i can hear a pump over run noise for a couple of minutes with a very low hissing noise from the valve area ! could be the pump...

    automatic by-pass differential valve

No the problem has only been recent since two months ago. Had the original bypass valve on for 10 years with no problem. then in January this year had problems with the old valve, so got a heating engineer in and fitted a new valve in the same place just above the boiler. Heating was turned off...

    automatic by-pass differential valve

Cannot do any of the best fixes as when the new combi was fitted, the header tank, hot water tank, pump and port valve in the airing cupboard all went. Only the radiators and radiator pipework survived. What old pipework left in the airing cupboard is redundant and not involved in the new...

    automatic by-pass differential valve

It was a new combo boiler fitted 10 years ago. It replaced a pilot lit boiler that had a water tank and header tank in the loft, plus a hot water tank and pump and diverter valve in the airing cupboard. The only thing that was carried over to the closed circuit combi system was the radiators and...

    automatic by-pass differential valve

Yes i have a motorised gate valve on the hot outflow just above the bypass valve for the wet underfloor heating in the conservatory next door. I am contemplating getting a heating engineer in to have a look at the problem for me. Could i ask him to take the bypass valve off altogether ? would...

    automatic by-pass differential valve

I have TRVs on all radiators apart from the one in the hall which has the CH thermostat next to it on the wall. At the moment all of my rad TRVs are fully open on number 5. One thing i forgot to mention is that bypass valve is connected via the out and return flows about 4 inches above the top...

    automatic by-pass differential valve

Thanks for the quick reply. Not really an expert on central heating systems, but the heating is on and the temperature on the front of the boiler says 63 i presume degrees. With the setting on 0.2 bar am i right in thinking that the valve is nearly fully open.

    automatic by-pass differential valve

Hoping that an expert will be able to tell me what the correct setting should be for my central heating auto by-pass diff valve should be. I am experiencing some kettling/whistleing noise from the valve and connecting pipes when the heating comes on and switches off. I have already had the valve...

    Greenstar combi boiler pressure drop

I am experiencing a pressure drop problem with my Worcester Bosch combi which is 15 months old. When the central heating is on the pressure needle is on 1.5 bar, when no heat is called for the pressure drops to 1 bar and stays there. But when i turn a hot water tap on the pressure drops down to...

Tony/Alec Many thanks for your helpfull comments. From the various responces that i have received now i fully understand the answer to my original question, and that is "no! do not turn up the mixing valve temperature as you may risk cracking some tiles". Much appreciated Veto

Wet underfloor heating in conservatory not very hot

Tony Not sure if you are having a go at me for not understanding the complexities of UFH. I am just a pensioner who likes to sit in his conservatory. First of all i do not know the technical detail that went into the floor. There could be 2 loops because of the tee elbows or spigots. I cannot...

Wet underfloor heating in conservatory not very hot

Alec/Simond Thanks for the replies. I am still trying to break down your info into laymans language so i can understand it. I have got some more data if it will help. the control system is a Polypipe zonal regulation unit which has got tees and spigot elbows fitted for a 2nd circuit. The...

Wet underfloor heating in conservatory not very hot

Hi Dan I will try and answer your questions as best as possible. Screed thickness - 65mm with 4" DPC. Pipe centres - This i do not know but it is a single loop system. Slave or independent circuit - independent from main CH system with its own pump and zone valve. Area of conservatory...

Wet underfloor heating in conservatory not very hot

I currently have wet underfloor heating in a large conservatory. When it is cold outside like 2-4c, the temperature in the conservatory will not go any higher than 16c, even with the room stat set a 21c. I have got the UFH pump on the no.3 setting with the mixing valve on 50c. The question is...
