Does anyone have any info on asbestos in a old 1880 house with lime plaster walls. I wouldn't think the old plaster walls would contain asbestos but I don't want to give the wrong advice. Also would wallpaper contain asbestos?

Yes that test would work but you would have to break part of the board off which is stupid if it is asbestos.

I have been looking for pictures of soft and hard board but I can't seem to find any that show the fibres like in the picture. Is the fibre just wood or does it have asbestos in it?

How do you know? Is it the colour that gives it away. I thought it could be hardboard but what is the difference between the two? Thanks.

I have moved house and I was clearing out the garage that the last owner had left and behind the wood I found a small pannel, white in colour and with a brown material inside that looks like fibre. I thought it could be asbestos insulation board. I have attached a picture so you can see Thank you

Does any one know? If it said "gypsum" on the back it must be safe right and has anyone seen plasterboard with markings on the back?
