You certainly don't want woodstain, you want a clear polyurethane varnish (water-based)

    Commission

What normally happens is you tell the builder you want £160 per day (for example) then he would probably chage you out at £200 so both you and the builder are making what you want.

Wallpaper Edges Keep Coming up When Hanging Them?

It's taking 30/40 minutes a piece? That's a definite problem!! Also you need to seal the walls better , Halls beeline do a good sealer. You need to move a bit faster, paste and put in a bin bag wrapped up for 5 minutes that will help the paste not to dry out

What should I be earning ?

Painters and plasterers both earn more than that running a business! It's allways hard saying one tradesman earns this one earns that. Everyone is different and has different needs in life and charge accordinly. I would say most earn 1k plus but some peoplpeare happy with half that!

Notsure why you or anybody would set up a business and charge 100/120 per day? It's not worth it! You can go and work for somebody for 14ph+ and not have the hastle of running a business ! 15years ago £120 was OK but still nothing special

Am I being too fussy? Joiners / carpenters advice please

Yes I think it could be better and don't think your being over the top, this is my view from a Decorator looking at it so not a professional opinion! By no means do I think he should be featured on rouge traders or anything just think his detail isn't quite there. The black on the edge of the...
