    Im thinking of changing the tubes in the garage of which there are 4. It is currently 5ft 65w tubes which are FAT! (T12 going by my research) and the ones im thinking of putting in are T8. I read the gap between pins is the same, is it is easy as swapping them out? thanks.

    thanks for that, was always going to drain down and put in some cleaner as dont know when it was last done, have a rad close to the back door, ill use that. Thanks for all your help by the way, really appreciate it.

    rads all toasty now seems to be back to normal. So if i have to drain things down again, should i use the drain of the bottom of the boiler termed primary water? as there is no drain cock that i can see. cheers

    trid the switches not sure if they had tripped or not, booted her up, boilers doing something, cant hear pump though, i feel the radiators warming up slightly. seem to be warmer at the top of the radiators than the bottom, any significance?

    will try those trip switches and report back. drained to zero pressure, changed valves, repressured with filling loop to 1 bar, pressures holding but no go.

    would just like to clean and flush the heating system as im not sure when it was done, as the hot water is fed from the combi do i have to isolate the hot water from the boiler when i get it drained and start adding chemicals or am i going off on a tangent here?

    no drain cocks on any radiators and not an option to under with carpets, laminate etc, system is also microbore if that makes a difference i dont know.

    Finally was fixed, managed to get surveyor to accept blame for not picking it up in the homebuyers report, gave a settlement figure, knew the issue was incorrect construction so buttresses all along now to support wall and revamped kitchen with the change :lol: :lol: :lol:
