    MP3 encoders

MMJB is very good but it is also very good at hogging resources. I only use it for ripping and tagging. I use media player rarley but mostly quinnessential media player which is brilliant. Once you get your head around play lists and have created them you dont need all the padding MMJB...

    MP3 encoders

oldversion.com is hosting older versions on music match which are free, :D :D . I have been using a paid for version of MMJB for about 2 years now and it is brilliant. The free version will rip but the the paid for version will automatically name and tag the files. IMHO tagging is far more...

Insulation between gound and 1st floor?

You could try TRV's this will give you some control over heat ouput to each rad. However i do think it is the simple thing of hot air rising and displacing cold. Try closing some of the doors to limit heat loss.

Halogen lighting below kitchen wall units

Could you put the transfer and the wiring inside the units and then drill a small hole to drop the cables down ?? You could fill any joints with decorators caulking, this comes in tube like mastic but it cant be painted.

    Brick Matching

I agree with you 100% thermo. In fact a few years ago i had a extension demolished and rebuilt because it had been built frog down. Did you also know you can lay wire cut and 'smiley' bricks upside down as well ?

    Brick Matching

They can be laid so much quicker becasue there is less surface area of brick in relation to mortar. Therefore they can be 'wiggled' down so much quicker or with so much less effort.

    Brick Matching

Anything built using london bricks properly uses more mortar. They are supposed to be laid with the frog up, ie the big hole on the top. Then comes the next course with a lot of mortar to fill said hole, a lot of bricklayers if not 99% will lay frog down. This is not only quicker but also...

    Fireplace brickwork repairs

New Oak Floor - what underneath?

I would construct it as if it was a new timber floor, ie New 'joists' and noggings across floor, nail new boards but allow a gap around the floor. Fit new skirting over the exapnsion gap and hey presto. Unless of course you are in a flat with another flat beneath you, then i would...
