    thanks, i will do this and let you know I had the diverter valve diaphragm changed over a year ago as no hot water ignition occured. It was a bugger, very fiddly and had to remove so much to get at it! Wasn't very nice !!

    Hi all Just a quickie as I have a problem with my combi on the hot water What should roughly the temperature's be on the flow and return a plate heat exchanger? The hot water runs ok and then runs cold I'm thinking it is the plate heat exchanger blocked, or possibly a thermistor...

    where was the changeover switch? It's in my mums house. She has a w plan. Looking at the w plan diagram it is true you cannot get the heating (power to brown wire of 3 port diverter) if the hot water stat is not up to temp!

    Thanks for your reply. Yep sepearate timings. Just seeing the W Plan wiring diagram, Sundial W plan, and the cylinder stat seems to HAVE to be off/satisfied to allow power to the BROWN wire of the 3 PORT. Even with hw off at the programmer!! As power goes through cylinder stat to power 3...

    The old W Plan, 3 port diverter valve. Is it true that you can't have heating on it's own UNTIL the hot water cylinder is up to temperature, even if you don't want the HW on at that time? From the diagram the power to the brown wire of the 3 port valve can't get there unless h/w cylinder is up...

    Thanks. I just wondered as am testing my Ideal logic, as is tays in the manual. But need to know if pin out is heating mode or not as it isn't clear! I think pin out must be heating mode

    Do the newer motor powered diverter valves in combis (A-rated boilers) that use a flow turbine/sensor as well for the Hot water, usually rest in hot water mode, and the pin come out in heating mode?
