    Integrated dishwasher door issue

I've got exactly this problem with a Bosch SMV69M01GB. I purchased it to replace an older Bosch model. The old dishwasher was fitted so that the top of the dishwasher touched the underside of the worktop. When the new one was fitted this way the decor door touched the metal at the bottom of the...

    Megaflo Dripping Valve

I had the same problem. The part #95 605 021 was dripping, I only noticed when the ceiling in the stairway was getting wet. I turned the valve off, opened the hot tap and removed the part. Gave the bit I removed a rinse, it was full of crud. The wrapped some PTFE tape around the screw thread and...

    Overboarding a kitchen

I scraped off the Artex pimples, I did this by spraying water on the Artex with a handheld fine spray every 15 minutes for 2 hours. The Artex then scrapped off with very little dust as it was wet right through. For the gap in the ceiling where the partition wall had been I managed to put some...

    Overboarding a kitchen

I bought one of these it's ok but doesn't seem to hold the bit too well on its own. That's how the rest of the ceilings in the house were skimmed but the problem with the kitchen is that there is a 1 inch gap in the ceiling where a partition wall was removed (see photo in previous posting)...

    Overboarding a kitchen

Do the batons have to be screwed into the rafters? What do you screw the ends of the boards into? Or do I need to put batons where all the edges of the plasterboard are? So i would have batons laid out like the edges of the plasterboard? Also, have you got any advice on cutting the...

    Overboarding a kitchen

Does artex from 1984 have asbestos in it? I was looking at some timber that I could screw into the joists in the ceiling at right angles to the joists. Would one of these be ok? Sawn Kiln Dried Timber (L)2400 x (W)38 x (T)19mm Sawn Kiln Dried Timber (L)2400 x (W)50 x (T)22mm I'd rather...

    Overboarding a kitchen

I'm going to buy a 100mm scraper and use that to scrape off the ends of the pimples. This should make the artex nearly level and not cause a problem with unevenness or damage/bruising to the boards.

Thanks, the driver bits look good. Do they also hold the screw while you are drilling so you can drill with just one hand? I'm a bit concerned that if I also screwed 2 by 1 to the ceiling I'd be reducing the ceiling hight too much. I've already fitted a wooden floor which has added about 1...

    Overboarding a kitchen

Can you tell me how far apart the screws should be when I screw it to the ceiling? Should I cut the boards so the edges line up with the joists or is it ok to overhang the joists? If so is there and recommended fixings for fixing the plaster board directly to the plasterboard above and not...

    Overboarding a kitchen

The ceiling is very secure, it was built in about 1985. The artex is just a gentle ripple and the boards are very flat. I did get a plasterer to scrap off the artex and put a layer of skim over the top on the rest of the house, but the kitchen was not done at that time. Because I have...

    Overboarding a kitchen

I would like to overboard my kitchen ceiling. It is currently plasterboard with a textured finish. I have knocked a partition wall down so there is a line/gap missing from the ceiling where the wall was taken out, this is about 2 inches wide. I figure the best way to deal with this is to...
