Thanks - I thought it looked a bit like that. I'll screw it all back together and see what happens then :?

Zanussi DE6854 dishwasher won't drain or wash

I finally got a clear day today to take the machine apart (and it was purely coincidence that I'd just run out of washing up liquid  ). I took off the hose section that joins the sump to the drain pump and a hairball and a couple of bits of plastic fell out: Are these likely to...

Zanussi DE6854 dishwasher won't drain or wash

You see, I didn't think of that  But it's clear. If it's a faulty pump I guess it's marigold time as they seem to be about £130. How do I get to it to check for debris? No voltage? I had the door off about 3 weeks ago and disconnected all the wires from the control panel before...

Zanussi DE6854 dishwasher won't drain or wash

Thanks, but replacing it isn't an option for financial reasons. If I can repair it myself for a fistful of fivers by replacing a part, great. Otherwise I'll be after a pair of marigolds. Or some paper plates; me and washing up aren't best buddies

Zanussi DE6854 dishwasher won't drain or wash

The dishwasher will neither drain out nor start washing. Every program starts by emptying the water from the machine. If there is water in the sump and I start a program, you can hear the click of a relay behind the top buttons but no motor sounds and the machine doesn't empty. After about...

Electrolux EOB944 - oven trips circuit breaker

Thanks. I had initially thought that it might be the safety cutout stat. It looked a bit grim when I opened up the oven but I think that it was just 10 years of being sprayed with hot, greasy fumes from the top vent fan  Out of interest, is it OK to briefly short out / bypass the...

Electrolux EOB944 - oven trips circuit breaker

Cheers Taylortwocities - fair point  Yep, tried that. As I said, disconnecting the fan was the only thing that stopped it tripping.

Electrolux EOB944 - oven trips circuit breaker

Hi all. After being switched on for a few minutes the oven trips the circuit breaker in the house fuse box. I've disconnected various components inside the ovento try and see if I can stop it from tripping the RCD. Disconnecting the elements didn't have any effect but when the oven fan motor...
