Tanking tape on outer corners of niche

Job done. The outer corners didn't stick that well, as I'd foolishly applied some silicone over the edges previously. So it's waterproof, but the tape moves on those corners. Hopefully the tiler is happy with that.

Tanking tape on outer corners of niche

Thanks for this, is there tanking tape on the verticals too? Looks like yes on the right, but the left not sure? I was worried about not getting complete coverage, especially the corners on the face, but the tape seems to just be a means to hold the liquid membrane in place so it covers...

New patio doors letting water in, installer says it's fine

I can see them, they are about 10mm round holes. The doors are made by Origin.

New patio doors letting water in, installer says it's fine

My sliding doors get water in the inside channel when it rains against them. But there are drain holes and it disappears reasonably quickly

Tanking tape on outer corners of niche

Hi all, I have a niche cut out in my shower wall, it's all made from Jackoboard. The inside corners are easy to tape and tank, but the outer edge I am unsure how to cut the tape to cover it. It isn't the right way for a pre-formed external corner. I've searched online but cannot see anything...

    changing the guttering rubber seals

I lifted each length of gutter, cleaned the union or corner piece, then put a load of white CT1 on it, and refitted the gutter into it. Cleaned up the outside with Wonder Wipes, then added more CT1 inside where required. 2 years on and its leak free....

Im sure I've seen ones with a very long attachment that let's you drive the collated screws from a standing up position... sounds ideal!?

Garage floor upgrade - Block and Beam floor

I think you would need your beams laid out to take the block work within them long ways (215mm) if a car is ever going to go in there. Not sure why engineering brick would be specified, unless the foundation is narrow - my b&b is supported on concrete blocks laid flat.

MK Masterseal - swap socket possible

Mine was Logic Plus, and it was a few years back! It wasn’t riveted, but I cannot remember how it was fixed now.

MK Masterseal - swap socket possible

Just standard sockets - I got a good deal on an MK un-switched double IP66 one, and just replaced the inner socket with a switched version from my stock.

MK Masterseal - swap socket possible

Yes fairly likely, for a perfect fit. If Contactum do a smart socket, that would probably be fine. Also need to be sure your WiFi will work where the socket is outside, and that your router is transmitting at 2.4GHz

    Toupret interior filler

Just looked at a pack of Toupret I bought a year ago. It's dated 10Avr24, so unless we both got very unlucky I'd say it was the production date.

Repair to exterior concrete steps risers

I'd use garage floor paint. It's pretty tough. But very very smelly as it's solvent based. I guess that's what makes it so tough, though!

MK Masterseal - swap socket possible

Any of the MK Logic Plus accessories of the correct size (single or double sized plates), I expect. About the only variables would be socket, or RCD socket! Due to the curve at the top of the MK Logic Plus, nothing else would fit perfectly. But I don't suppose it would matter if something...

Foam guns that can be stripped down

The unbranded ones often seem to be the exact same as the expensive ones. I had a £25 Fischer one until I cleaned it and lost a spring. I replaced it with an Amazon special for £12 (Not available any more) and it was absolutely identical.... when I later damaged that one, I used parts from the...

How do I remove these recessed spotlights

We have the same fittings. They had a glass cover, which you were supposed to push the provided suncrion cup onto, then pull HARD to remove the light. I found that when pushing the cup on, the glass pulled away so I could get my fingers behind the bezel, and pull down. There will be a bent...
