    Weber Render

Meant to update this ages ago.... The builder finally accepted responsibility and following a meeting with the Managing Director, full settlement was received in Feb 14. The damaged areas were all removed (all corners etc) and built back out, following which the house was fully re rendered...

Silicone Render - Jub or Sto?

Hi Is it true that Sto only sell to approved contractors? I believe this is not the case with Weber? This job is to overcoat damaged render, i presume the Sto is suitable for that?

Silicone Render - Jub or Sto?

Hi I have had two quotes for a silicone render finish to my property. One contractor has specified Jub render and the other Sto render. Could some of you folks in the know let me know which is the best product as both have come in very close on price Thanks

    Weber Render

As an update to this, the NHBC have now been out twice and have finally produced a report. Sadly this states that whilst both Weber and the NHBC would prefer to see the bead replaced, the NHBC apparently cannot be prescriptive, they can only make recommendations. It is up to the builder to...

    Weber Render

Is that somebody else on the same estate getting it replaced?

    Weber Render

as far as I know I am the only one with an issue, I have had a look at a lot of them and there seems to be a number of different beads used on different houses. The latest incident occured due to the wind, which blew over the blue bin, which caught the corner of the house and took two big...

    Weber Render

Have the NHBC coming out to inspect this at the end of January. Heres hoping they agree that it has been applied incorrectly. More has crumbled off in the last few months!! If no luck with them then I will be left to sort myself sadly!!

    Weber Render

Similar to what has been described above, it has been suggested that the corners could be patched up, and the beads replaced, and then the whole thing covered in a acrylic / silicone render in white. Does anybody have any experoence of this, and would you recommend it? Obviously this saves...

    Weber Render

I mentioned all of that, and the Weber guy would not commit himself. He says that there is an undercoat type thing, and that MAY be part of the 16mm. Seems happy that it is 15mm in centre of panels, but is not bothered that it spalling away from edges. The bead that has been used will only...

    Weber Render

had the Weber rep out today who would only say "they are not the beads that we would recommend", but they are not wrong. Looks like I am going to have to pay out of my own pocket to fix this mess. All the builder wants to do is patch it up!!

    Weber Render

Just to add to the photos above, thought I would add this which shows the finish round the windows. In my opinion far too thin. This is happening round most of the windows.

    Weber Render

I would need it hacked off, mind you that should not be too hard given its falling off!!

    Weber Render

Any idea of a rough cost to do this?

    Weber Render

I would love to pull the whole lot off and start again in white (old fashioned harling as well!!). Probably talking a whole heap of cash to do that though!

    Weber Render

Well done, spot on with Dunfermline! That is my argument with the builder, that they have used the wrong beads. I had a meeting with them yesterday and said it should be a Y shaped angle bead on the corner and they told me that they had never seen them before. Went into B&Q last night and...

    Weber Render

Hi, I bought a house from a national housebuilder which is finished in a coloured weber one coat render. The spec says that this should be finished to 15mm. Upshot is that it is falling off at the corners, and I dont think it is on thick enough. Image below shows render thickness compared...
