    Visor steams up

Just warm the visor in warm water first - you will only "steam up" if the visor is cold and your warm breath is condensing on it.... ...clearly I'm the only one who wears eye glasses on here! :) hahaha

any one ever used one of these

ah ok, in that case then: yes they do work well

any one ever used one of these

It's probably not worth buying one then. Ask your local tool hire shop or have a look online, it's usually only about out a tenner to get it sharpened.

any one ever used one of these

Do you use your chainsaw a lot?

any one ever used one of these

Yes, I have used one (but I don't own it, it was my local tool hire guy's sharpener) - why do you ask?

    Which laser level?

Yes - I did mean they "look" cheap - as in very plastic etc Not sure on servicing and repair on PLS in the UK but our Leica's have always gone to a company in Chester who are a main Leica dealer so they do have their own in-house calibration and repair centre. I'm pretty sure the other big...

    vacuum recomendations

That should be illegal! in fact; all vacuum cleaner manufacturers should have to pay Numatic a licence fee and be forced to have smile on their machines. The world would be a better place with more happy vacuums in it!

    vacuum recomendations

Yes, we sometimes hire a 110v version from the local tool hire shop. I've never seen them for sale but sure you could get one with some looking around on the internet?

PLS lasers: look cheap and rubbish.... but do a very good job!

    Cleaning carpet :o(

Richard C - maybe they have changed their machines since 2002 but the one we hired was so bad I took it back and asked for a refund after just an hour of having it. I then went to a proper tool hire shop (as the RugDoctor came from a Summerfield supermarket) and got a Karcher model - it knocked...

    Which laser level?

No, I don't work for anyone but myself! I just find that Leica products have never let me down. I've had Topcon and Spectra lasers before - which are both also great - but my personal preference is Leica just because the support is better, lots of places will fix and calibrate them and spare...

Issues with Bosch Pro 14.4v combi drill into concrete

"How far is half way!!???" - about 50% of the way I believe :)

    Cleaning carpet :o(

RugDoctor are THE worst carpet cleaner hire machines known to man... but a very successful franchise model in the US and UK. Go for a Karcher model and you won't be left disappointed. Your local tool hire shed should have a Karcher (or similar) in stock with all the bits and bobs you would need.

Issues with Bosch Pro 14.4v combi drill into concrete

Why not just hire a monster drill from your local tool hire shop? 14.4v ain't going to get through much to be honest!

    vacuum recomendations

Henry Henry Henry - any day of the week - mine knocks the socks off the wife's Dyson (which she claims "doesn't lose suction" but later admits "if you clean the filter etc regularly)

    Which laser level?

Do yourself a massive favour; don't listen to the hype about DeWalt and buy a Leica laser level instead - Leica make some of the best laser levels on the market and generally only builders of the hairy-arsed type will use a DeWalt. I expect some people on here will disagree with that...

    cracks in bathroom wall

PrenticeBoyofDerry: simple ideas are usually the best aren't they? - a proper Blue Peter jobbie what I've made here but I think as a home made crack monitor goes it should do the job! Thanks for the help on that one. Let's hope my wall isn't "on the move"!

    cracks in bathroom wall

hello everyone. I am new to this forum but looking for some help. I have recently moved in to a house and noticed a crack in the bathroom wall near the ceiling. I didn't notice this when I looked around the property but it may have already been there (i am not 100 percent sure). Is there a...
